Keto Diet - How It is Going

I'm so sorry that we haven't updated everyone sooner. We are a month in to the Ketogenic diet at this point. And with that, I can say that she is officially seizure free. I'm so nervous to put that in writing. You'd think we'd be shouting it from the rooftops. And I guess we're whispering it from the rooftops at this point. Always a bit wary that we could end up back where we were in January, back where we were in June, and back where we were one month ago.

But...for now...we are right here. Brooke is doing great!!!! Within three days of the diet, a light bulb went on. She was a moving maniac. You'd hold her in the air and she'd run in place. It was hysterical. She can sit on her own for about 10 minutes at a time. She wants to sit on her own, more importantly. She is trying to pull herself up using these ab muscles that are newly forming. We have some on-the-ball PT crunches that we do with her. She can probably do more than me at this point.

Her eyesight has improved. She plays 'looking' games, where if you ask her to look at you, she'll glance over, smile, and look away - repeat. She thinks it's very funny. She laughs all the time. Most mornings, she wakes up laughing. When she's upset, she lets us know. She cries real tears - that's new too, believe it or not. Her grin is more of a toothy smile now.

And again...I'll say it a bit louder this time...No Seizures since the first week. Wow, that makes me so nervous to say!
